Shalamar was a North American music group in the disco, post-disc, R&B, boogie and soul styles that performed mainly between the 1970s and 1980s. The members (classical) were Howard Hewett, Jody Watley and Jeffrey Daniel. The band was created by Dick Griffey and Don Cornelius. They became an influential dance trio and icons of fashion and trends. His name “Shalamar” was chosen by Griffey.
