Lito Blues Band

The Lito Blues Band is a group dedicated to the sounds of blues, soul, jazz and rock’n’roll that revolves around the figure of the great guitarist José Fernández Téllez, Lito.

Lito’ belongs to the generation of musicians encouraged by the Cambayá factory and its ‘Gudalssissippi’, whose catalog includes his first records. Lito’s guitar can also be heard in the records of that arequeological-sonorous myth that is still Tabletóm, as in Hamelín and Gran Pamela will remember the most memorable ones, and has played alongside Big Jack Johnson or Luther Allison. Polyglot of the ten fingers, they speak for them as Clapton, or Duane Allman, or Fogerty or Roben Ford, to mention just a few names of their saints.

Energy, cohesion, sensitivity, freshness, emotion, professionalism… are some of the terms that come to mind when one attends a performance of the Lito Blues Band, formed in 1989. Mixing their own songs and covers, the Lito Blues Band’s constantly evolving repertoire covers the history of blues and soul from the classics to the present day, revisiting songs by artists as diverse as B.B. King, Etta James. Robert Johnson, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Scott Henderson, Roben Ford, Jeff Beck… In its more than 25 years of existence, the Lito Blues Band has forged a reputation as a great live band, touring the Spanish geography where he has given hundreds of concerts and participated in major Blues Festivals in Spain. In recent years has had as vocalist with the tremendous New York singer Suzette Moncrieff.

Lito Fernandez, also recognized for his work with Big Jack Johnson, Richard Ray Farrel or Luther Allison, has always known how to surround himself with quality musicians. In 2011 the band was renewed with versatile and virtuosic musicians of various nationalities (USA, Switzerland and Spain) and expands even more its musical horizon, mixing the roots of Blues, the sensitivity of Soul, the improvisation of Jazz and the energy of Rock.
